Obble runs the first two rounds of hiring for staffing agencies. Someone applies for a job, our AI interviews them over a live call, and the agency gets back a report and a recording instead of an afternoon of phone screens.
This role builds both sides of that: the system holding every position, candidate, and interview, and the screens recruiters work in all day. You will be one of a handful of engineers, so the work is wide. In a normal month you might design a table and its access rules, build the API around it, then build the screen that makes it useful.
What you will do
- Take features from a rough problem statement to something agencies use, including the schema, the API, and the interface.
- Write the tests that let us ship on a Friday: we treat the suite as the gate, not as paperwork.
- Keep tenant isolation airtight. Every agency's data is separated in the database itself, and that guarantee is never negotiable.
- Read the recruiter's screen as carefully as the code. Speed and clarity in the product are engineering decisions here.
What we are looking for
- Three or more years building production web applications, with real ownership of what you shipped.
- Strong TypeScript, and comfort in both a Node API and a React codebase.
- Working knowledge of relational databases: you can read a query plan and you know why an index exists.
- A habit of writing things down, because a remote team runs on what you wrote.
Nice to have
- NestJS, Next.js, Drizzle, or Postgres row-level security.
- You have worked somewhere small enough that nobody handed you the requirements.
