Recruiting software is famously ugly, and the people using it spend their entire working day in it. That is the opening we are taking: Obble should feel like an instrument, not a form.
This is a design role with commit access. You will not hand a file to an engineer; you will build the thing, at the level of craft the marketing site already holds.
What you will do
- Own the interface end to end, from the first sketch to the merged pull request.
- Grow the design system: the type scale, the color tokens, the motion, and the components everything else is built from.
- Make dense screens readable. A recruiter comparing forty candidates needs hierarchy more than decoration.
- Hold the line on accessibility: keyboard paths, contrast, and reduced motion are part of the design, not a later pass.
What we are looking for
- A portfolio of interfaces you both designed and built. We would rather see three real screens than thirty concepts.
- Fluent React and CSS, and strong opinions about layout, typography, and spacing.
- Comfort making product decisions, not just visual ones.
Nice to have
- Tailwind, Next.js, or motion work (Framer Motion, WebGL, canvas).
- You have designed for data-dense professional tools before.
